Mississippi Play Sports hosted their fall showcase September 15, 2018.  Some 50 girls in grades 7 through 12 attended the event held at Ridgeland High School.   There was some exciting talent in attendance and some great performances. 

Delta Report was in the house.  We were able to evaluate players and performances.  Though there were stellar performances, We have chosen a handful of outstanding performers to highlight the event.  Please review the MS Play Sports Tipsheet below.

Otashae Burrage 2019 5'5 Point Guard - Leake County - Otashae is a smallish pg with a Napolean mindset. She uses her size to her advantage to weave thru the interior of the defense. She consistently found ways to score and get her shot off.
Hannah White 2019 5'8 Guard - Columbus - Hannah is competitor with a lot of energy. She plats the game with passion. She scores in a variety of ways. She showed she could find open team mates as well as create her own shots. Her wicked first step allowed her to get into the interior of the defense. She consistently encouraged other players and demonstrated she can be a great team mate.
Morgan Williams 2019 6'2 Forward - Delhi LA - Morgan has a next level frame and some great athleticism to with it. A physical presence with an enforcers mindset around the rim. She was a consistent scorer in the paint though multiple defenders were hanging on her. She took enough mid range shots to keep the defense honest Solid ball handler as a post. Capable of moving into the 4 spot.
Ti'lan Boler 2020 5'11 Forward - Meridian - Ti'lan was clearly one of the the more athletic players at the showcase.Her athleticism was very apparent in her ability to use her length and speed in passing lanes. Ti'lan as an offense player is more of a slasher. She creates additional scoring attempts by pounding the offensive glass. Asher ball handling improves she could easily transition from a 4 player to a 3 player.
T'Keyah Catchings 2020 6'1 Forward - Simpson Academy - Great next level frame. Good hands allows her to make tough catches in traffic. Nice soft touch around the rim. Effective scorer inside the arc. Rebounds well and looks to trigger the fast break. Can get up and down the court well.
Jakiylah Esco 2020 6'1 Forward - Ridgeland - Jakiylah is a presence in the paint and a strong rebounder. Strong hands and a soft touch. Very mobile with good agility. Strong post up ability. Uses her her body well to hold position. Very good mob
Tasionna McDowell 2020 6'2 Forward - Delhi, LA - Tasionna is a very athletic forward whose best asset is her versatility. She showed the ability to play all three front line positions effectively. Her rebounding triggered several fastbreaks and on occasion she would put the ball on the floor to initiate the break herself. She has an explosive vertical and was able to get off the floor quickly. As her perimeter shooting improves she should be a very attractive to recruiters.
Aniya Sanders 2020 5'8 Guard - Warren Central - Aniya is an athletic power guard. A capable rebounder that can score in traffic. A player with ability to score from the perimeter (extended 3 ball range) and is a strong right hand penetrator in the open court. Consider Sanders as a hard nose competitor.
Dee Dee Shepard 2020 5'8 Guard - Pontotoc - Dee Dee is a guard with a high motor. Constantly involved in 50/50 plays. Does not mind getting on the floor. Excelled in the transition parts of the game. Constantly in attack mode in the half court..
